Membership

Belonging That Shapes Who You’re Becoming

Membership is about belonging. It’s a shared commitment to grow in faith, walk through life together, and support one another through celebration and grief as we seek Christ together in real, lived community.

A Shared Journey Into Commitment

Becoming a member is a relational process. We meet together to talk through what membership looks like, who you want to be as part of this congregation, and how we walk faithfully together going forward.

Step 1

Attend a Membership Class
The membership class explores what we believe, why we believe it, and how faith takes shape in everyday life here. This time creates space for questions, clarity, and shared understanding before making a commitment.

Step 2

Our Story, Our Values, Our Life Together
You’ll learn the story of this church, how we are structured, how decisions are made, and how our shared life has taken shape over time. This gives context for how we live faithfully together today

Step 3

Living Faith Together
Membership means participation. We commit to worship, groups, serving, giving, and living with intention. We also share our stories with one another, listening for how Christ has been at work in our lives

Step 4

A Public Welcome
During a Sunday gathering, new members are welcomed into the church family through shared covenant language and vows. This moment marks a mutual commitment to walk together in faith and responsibility.

FAQ

Do I need to be baptized first?
Baptism and membership are closely connected. Baptism is invited, encouraged, and celebrated as part of becoming a member, though each person’s journey is approached with care and conversation.
What if I’m coming from another church?
We gladly receive letters of transfer and will help guide that process. We want your transition to feel thoughtful, supported, and respectful of the faith community you are coming from.
Do I have to renew my membership?
Membership does not require renewal. We simply ask members to remain active and engaged as part of the ongoing life and care of the church.
What kind of Baptist church is this?
We are American Baptists. We are an autonomous local church that makes decisions together while remaining rooted in the authority of Scripture and the historic distinctives of the Baptist tradition.
