Baptism

A Public Step of Faith

Baptism is a meaningful step in following Jesus. It is a public declaration of faith, expressing outwardly the inward change that takes place as you choose to trust, follow, and walk in new life with Christ.

Who Should Be Baptized

For Those Who Have Chosen to Follow Jesus

Baptism is for anyone who has made a personal decision to follow Jesus, including students and adults. It is an intentional response to faith and an act of obedience that follows belief, not something done on behalf of someone else.

Baptism by Immersion

We practice baptism by full immersion. Going fully under the water reflects the symbolism of death and resurrection, representing a new life in Christ and a clear, visible expression of faith before the church community.

Child Dedication Is Separate

For parents of younger children, we offer Child Dedication as a separate opportunity. Baptism is reserved for those who personally choose to follow Jesus and understand the meaning of this step of faith

Walking With You Every Step

Baptism at FBC Alliance is a thoughtful, guided process. We walk with you to ensure you understand what baptism means, feel prepared, and are supported as you take this step in your faith journey.

1. Meet With a Pastor or Leader

Sharing Your Story

Before baptism, you’ll meet with a pastor or leader to talk through your story, ask questions, and make sure you understand what baptism represents. This conversation helps clarify meaning and ensures this step is intentional and personal.

2. Baptism Day

A Day to Celebrate

On baptism day, we provide robes and create space for celebration. You’re encouraged to invite family and friends, wear submersible clothing of your choice, and bring a change of clothes as we celebrate together.
