At first this was going to be an episode about the tragic shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery and the matters of race, violence, and what we as Christ-followers should be doing in response to these events. Then we learned the name George Floyd. Then we saw the protests. Then we saw the riots. Then we realized we were missing the point in our first recording. We also knew we couldn’t talk about these subjects and not address the murder of a black man in police custody which sparked the outrage of a nation. In this episode, we take on the topic of racial injustice and the lost art of the lament, which is something we can easily skip right over in our attempts to take immediate action for change.
